Elfin Lakes – a pantoum

Elfin Lakes

An icy pool of sky-blue water,
Surrounded by endless snow.
Pushing someone in would be manslaughter,
Though it’s ever so shallow.

Surrounded by endless snow,
Icebergs scattered around, afloat.
Though it’s ever so shallow.
And it’s remote.

Icebergs scattered around, afloat.
The peace all around, the frosty air,
And it’s remote.
Never mind you’ve seen a bear.

The peace all around, the frosty air.
So warm- that will never falter.
Never mind you’ve seen a bear.
An icy pool of sky-blue water.
