Island Adventure

Island view from a boat that we took later on.

Just a few weeks ago, which feels now like a very long time ago, we went on an Island adventure on a little island just of the coast of Koh Jum.

We took a kayak that is free to use if you are staying in the Woodland Lodge. At first Mama and Daddy got in the two seats in the kayak and Elliot sat on the front while Sascha and I hung on to the back of the kayak, but Mama and Daddy said that we were too heavy and that they could not pull us to the point where Daddy would do a ferry with the kayak so we can get to the Island.   So we had to get off and walk on the beach which we weren’t very happy with but we found it fun just walking along together and talking about stuff Mama and Daddy aren’t supposed to know  random stuff.  When we got to the place parallel to the Island, Mama, Daddy and Elliot beached the kayak, took of their life jackets and started to have a little swim, we joined  in to the little swim.

After a bit of a  swim Mama, Daddy and Elliot got in the kayak and once they were in the kayak and they had put their life jackets on, Daddy asked us if it was OK if they went to the Island, we said “we are fine, you can go whenever you want”.  While we waited for him to come back we swam in the sea and talked about more secrets, random stuff.      Daddy didn’t at all take long to come back to pick us up and when he did come back, he asked how long he took and I responded 50 minutes, but he actually only took about  30 minutes.

When we had got in the boat and done all the stuff we need to do Daddy and Sascha started to paddle towards the Island.  Sascha whacked me in the head with his paddle and that was the end of paddling for him.   On our way to the Island, we saw lots of big long tentacled bright pink jellyfish in the sea.    Once we arrived at the Island, Sascha and I got out of the boat while Daddy beached it. Then Daddy  told us to come  with him into  the  sea to show us what we thought was a big bunch of rocks neatly put together…but little did we know actually it was a big bunch of little fish. Daddy said to us “you know what these are, boys?” “no” we both answered.      then  Daddy said that they were “a bunch of fish” as he walked into the middle of the rectangle of fish Sascha screamed and ran out of the water and I just ran as fast as I could out of the water. After  we got used to the fish, we   played around them and we even tried to catch them but they were too fast.

After a bit of swimming and coming out of the sea and getting back in it I stopped going in the sea because every time I went in the water, I’d come out hurting all over (all the time the same pain but in different parts of my body).              I think some very little things must have bitten me.  After stopping going in the  sea we all started to want to go home.  I was just bored.  I asked Mama  if there were any monkeys on the island and Mama said that she had already seen one and she showed me where it was (and it still was there). Sascha, Elliot and Daddy were in the sea playing when the big, fat giant monkey started to walk towards us. Mama called Daddy who scared away the monkey just by being big (Daddy didn’t really do much except from walking up to where we were). The monkey walked off in to the bushes. A moment later I saw the monkey popping his head out the bushes but then he went back in really quickly. That was when we all really really wanted to go home (of course, except Daddy who was preventing us).

Daddy paddling the kayak back to Woodland Lodge.

In the end it was time to go home so  Sascha Daddy and I  got in the kayak and Daddy started to paddle us out towards Ko Jum.  On the way home we saw a few jellyfish  but we didn’t care because Sascha and I were too busy talking about secrets    stuff Mama and Daddy aren’t supposed to know  random stuff. When we got to the place parallel to the island we had departed from. Daddy gave us the bag  and set back off to the island to pick up Mama and Elliot. While Daddy was on his way to the island Sascha and I took a few panoramas of him.

Once Elliot and Mama were back, they started swimming with Daddy and they said we could walk back to Woodland Lodge all by ourselves so that’s what we did……and you can guess what we were talking about.  When we arrived we noticed that Mama and Daddy had only just started paddling so we decided to go and talk and wait in the resort. After Mama and Daddy had arrived, Daddy went to talk to Mrs Sow about the island and the monkey and apparently people put all the bothersome monkeys on that island so people don’t get bothered by the monkeys.

Later that day we went to bed, and in bed we talked about things Mama and Daddy aren’t supposed to know about    ( RANDOM STUFF!)  random stuff.
