A full 5 days after departing home, we finally arrive at Sagavoll folkhøgskole, Sascha’s home for the past 10 months.
Briefly put, when you arrive here, you will not want to leave. We have had such a warm welcome, numerous teachers, students and staff, coming up to us to tell us how they have loved having Sascha with them this year. How he has impressed them with his kind heart his knowledge his rapid assimilation of the language and local dialects! It was a happy reunion for us all, after many months apart, with this new Norwegian Sascha who shines in so many ways for so many people, who has grown , my goodness, he has grown in every good way (and he has some extra muscles too!) . It’s been very lovely to hear other’s experiences of our Sascha. Wonderful to live the Sagavoll life for a few days. To eat and share and play and sing together. I have met so so so many people in these few days and had good meaningful conversations, I’ve only retained about half of all the names! Here for posterity and memory! : big Ingevild, Karen, Reggie , Nora, Victoria, Ingeborg and her lovely grand parents, Lars Helg, Janne and her husband, their kids, Tone Margherite and Liv Sophia, Justein , Marta, the Emmas, William, Hermann/ Macintosh, Hildegunn, Anne-Lise, the Anna’s , Tommanen, Sverre, Thandiwe, Jasper, Sur Phillip’ s parents, Andreas, Bødil, Per-Aven, Victoria (who got me thinking about Fullfilmenr), the Noras, and on and on the list can go.
I feel so privileged to be in some small way a part of this beautiful community. A little piece of heaven on earth.
The best possible start to our Scandinavian odyssey. Thank you all at Sagavoll!
