Turns out to be really really really soft. Grande luxe for 3 weeks. We spent 2 glorious weeks with the lovely Canadians and the gorgeous Australians (the adjectives are interchangeable here to keep everyone happy) and the always star of the show – Aunty Shirley.
Annecy itself is not much to talk about but the lake is gorgeous, blue and warm. With hot hot days and immediate access to the lake and watercraft we spent the whole first week messing about in the water and not much else (besides eating that is). The second week was cooler, wetter and further from the lake so a great opportunity to discover the hills, castles and more of the lake.
After two weeks of family it was time to take the train to London for more family, but the other half this time, as the extended family gathered for a wedding. Needless to say we have loved every minute and second and micro-minute of our time with the family in London, caught up with that Brother of mine too and (a bit of) his family – always lovely.
The boys finally got their way today, Mama and I took them to Mercedes Benz WORLD, a wondrous place off course.
Tomorrow we head back to Annecy from where we are presently (London) for more ice-creams and to start our grand periple towards – who knows where we will get to – Greece, if all goes well. We have reassured the boys that we will work on Meme and Nana to come and visit us during this year of adventures.
Mixed feelings of excitement and nervousness to finally start the adventurous bit after the wondrously cushy soft tummy filling start.
Icecreams: 14
Cycled: 51km
