Norway Cycling 🇸🇯

Only 2 memorable days cycling in Norway before our hop over to Stromstad in Sweden. Norway, it was resoundingly agreed upon, is hilly, very hilly, and so we take our present journey over Sweden on bike as a training for our future Norwegian adventures up far north, in July. It’s been a good warm-up for the legs. We have been graced by beautiful dry weather, pretty lucky for this time of year. Our short time in Norway was so rich, we were all warmed by the welcome everywhere, the friendliness, the generosity and importantly, the respectfulness of traffic!

That’s our Porsgrunn campsite across the bay.

Low lying islands bathed in sunlight in a calm sea stretch behind me as we now sail for Stromstad, Sweden.

The road is long but the sky is blue

First campsite at Porsgrunn, by the fjord, after 67km and 850m of uphill cycling! Exhausted!! Looks like some tuna based meal.
Lunch pause at the side of a big road, Porsgrunn to Sandjeford
A stop en route to Sandjeford , not far from where I saw the house I want us to build in the Cévennes!
Granholmen Camping near Sandjeford – the owner offers large icecreams to the boys after hearing of their undue cycling tribulations.
